In this important issue of the Amazing Adventures series, the “War of the Worlds” arc opens, with the first appearance of Killraven , protagonist of a post-apocalyptic scenario inspired by the classic “The War of the Worlds” by HG Wells.
The story opens in the future, 2018 AD, after Earth has been invaded by the Martians. Killraven is a freedom fighter battling the invaders and their human collaborators. In this issue, the protagonist travels through haunted subway tunnels, battles hostile gangs, confronts the "Keeper" (the human traitor/remnant working with the invaders), and reaches Grand Central Station to confront the mutant creatures sent by the Keeper.
The story combines science fiction, dystopian adventure, intense action, and themes of survival, personal loss (including flashbacks to Killraven's family and past), as well as the fight for freedom in a world dominated by oppressive forces.
