In issue #136, titled “The World Below,” Captain America and Falcon find themselves embroiled in a dangerous underground adventure.
The story begins when Cap and Sam Wilson are transported to the underground realm of the Mole Man , the Fantastic Four's infamous enemy. Inside the underground caverns, in an environment filled with ruins, dark creatures, and claustrophobic passages, the two heroes will have to face not only physical dangers but also deception and surprise attacks.
Among the challenges they encounter is a giant gorilla known as the Monster Ape (Dr. Erik Gorbo), who, transformed by an experiment, puts the Cap-Falcon duo to the test. The conflict takes place in the tunnels beneath the surface, where the lack of light, psychological pressure, and constant threat make every step crucial.
Ultimately, Cap and Falcon will succeed in foiling the Mole Man's evil plan, saving the innocents and closing down the underground threat, but not without facing moments of extreme tension that highlight not only their skills but also their courage and determination.
